Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Automation Engineer role based in Ahmedabad. The Senior Automation Engineer will design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA-based systems for various manufacturing environments. Daily responsibilities include analyzing process requirements, selecting appropriate automation hardware and software, programming and configuring control systems, and integrating robotics or motion control where required. The role involves conducting system testing, commissioning, and validation at client sites, as well as troubleshooting automation equipment and control logic to minimize downtime. The Senior Automation Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare technical documentation, train customer personnel on implemented systems, and support continuous improvement initiatives for existing installations.
Qualifications
- Strong automation and process control skills, including experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial communication protocols.
- Practical knowledge of electrical engineering and control panel design, with the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting automation systems, sensors, drives, and field devices in live production environments.
- Exposure to robotics and motion control systems, including integration and programming of robotic cells or automated handling solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in industrial sectors such as pharmaceuticals, packaging, or similar regulated industries is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site at customer locations, manage multiple projects, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication, documentation, and analytical skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
