VersaBadge is a location-aware technology company that provides a Bluetooth-based Real-Time Location System (RTLS) designed for healthcare settings such as hospitals and clinics. The platform offers solutions for time-study automation, patient rounding, asset tracking, distress alerts for caregivers, infection control, and contact tracing. VersaBadge’s purpose is to make location intelligence more affordable and accessible for rural and mid-sized healthcare providers, enabling improved financial health, staff safety, workflow efficiency, and compliance.
Role Overview:
Our core application stack includes C#/.NET backend services, React.js front-end applications, Microsoft SQL Server databases, and mobile application developed in .Net Maui. The selected candidate will design an automation strategy aligned with this ecosystem.
Role Responsibilities:
- This is a high-impact role with ownership over automation strategy, tooling selection, and long-term scalability of our QA automation program.
- Establish and implement the company’s first scalable automation framework to increase regression test coverage and reduce manual testing cycles.
- Improve release confidence by integrating automated test suites into GitHub Actions and AppVeyor pipelines, enabling faster and more reliable deployments.
- Partner with engineering and product teams to define risk-based testing priorities and reduce post-release defects.
- Design, build, and maintain new scalable, reusable automated test frameworks for web, mobile, API, and database testing across multiple health tech software applications.
- Lead the development and execution of automated test plans in coordination with developers, and product owners to ensure test coverage and software reliability.
- Write advanced automated scripts using languages such as Python, JavaScript, VBScript, C#, or Java, etc. Primary automation framework to be selected by candidate.
- Analyze test results, track defects, and participate in root cause analysis to improve system quality and reliability.
- Contribute to test data strategy, environment configuration, and infrastructure setup for robust test automation execution.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to integrate validation of controls aligned with HIPAA, SOC 2, NIST, or other applicable frameworks.
- Evaluate emerging automation tools and contribute to roadmap discussions for automation strategy and scalability.
- Drive test optimization by balancing speed, coverage, and maintainability in high-risk critical alert modules.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- 5-8 years of experience in QA automation, preferably in healthcare software or other regulated environments.
- Proficient in test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., TestComplete, Selenium, JavaScript, Python). Primary automation framework to be selected by candidate.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, AppVeyor).
- Solid understanding of software development life cycles, secure SDLC principles, and risk-based testing.
- Familiarity with testing APIs, web services, and backend systems using tools such as Postman.
- Strong debugging and diagnostic skills with the ability to analyze application logs, test output, and system behavior.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills, with experience contributing to team QA standards and peer reviews.
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, and/or extensive equivalent experience.
