The Senior Associate, VAL role at Portage Point represents a unique opportunity for a highly motivated professional to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact on a growing team. The Senior Associate, VAL will report directly to the local Director of VAL and serve as an integrated member of the VAL team. This Senior Associate will support corporate and portfolio valuation engagements by delivering comprehensive solutions to private equity sponsors, lenders and corporates across a wide range of illiquid investments, industries and geographies. Responsibilities
- Work with the Portage Point team (Associates to Managing Directors) and clients to develop comprehensive valuation solutions
- Perform valuation analysis on a wide range of illiquid investments broadly distributed across industries and geographies while using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
- Support client interviews to gather data and pertinent information
- Create schedules in financial models for discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiple, market transaction and option pricing analyses
- Support internal trainings and best practice sharing
- Contribute to a high-performing, inclusive and values-driven culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and / or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from a top undergraduate program required
- Ideally willing to relocate to or be primarily present in either Gurgaon or Mumbai
- Three plus years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm or top-tier investment bank / financial advisory firm serving U.S. clients, with hands-on exposure to valuation models and financial models like DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts / forecasts and other intangible asset models
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
- High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
- Track record of success in high-pressure, client-facing environments
