### Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Consultant to join PwC India’s Industrials Sustainability Transformation team. The role requires working onsite with one of our marquee industrial clients based in Jamshedpur, to lead efforts on designing and deploying sustainability strategies and operational transformations. The candidate will be instrumental in embedding sustainability into client’s industrial processes, supporting climate action, and aligning business objectives with ESG commitments.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Provide ESG rating support- Sustainability Reporting, Ratings, and Policies
-Serve as the primary PwC consultant working onsite at the client’s Jamshedpur facility to support and lead sustainability transformation initiatives.
- Conduct current state assessments and maturity analyses of the client’s sustainability practices across environment, energy, emissions, waste management, and circular economy aspects.
- Develop and roll out tailored sustainability strategies, action plans, and performance indicators aligned with client business goals and relevant global sustainability standards.
- Lead decarbonization initiatives including carbon footprint measurement, reduction roadmaps, energy transition planning, and low-carbon technology adoption.
- Advise client teams on emerging regulatory frameworks such as the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), helping them understand risks and opportunities arising from cross-border carbon pricing mechanisms and ensuring compliance readiness.
- Collaborate with client leadership and cross-functional teams to facilitate sustainable change management and capability-building.
- Lead data gathering, analyses, and preparation of detailed reports and presentations for senior client stakeholders and PwC leadership.
- Support reporting and disclosure aligned with frameworks like GRI, CDP, TCFD, and participate in client sustainability assurance processes as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and adoption of best practices to strengthen client’s ESG and sustainability credentials.
- Mentor junior team members to develop technical knowledge and project delivery capabilities in industrial sustainability transformation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Management, or related disciplines.
- Certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or sustainability-related credentials are a plus.
Experience:
- 5-8+ years of experience in sustainability consulting or industrial operational roles focused on sustainability transformation, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industries.
- Strong familiarity with sustainability frameworks including GRI, CDP, ISO 14001, SCI, ESG reporting requirements, and climate-related financial disclosures (TCFD).
- Demonstrated expertise or exposure to decarbonization strategies and carbon management practices.
- Awareness and knowledge of international regulatory developments such as CBAM and their implications for industrial exporters.
- Proven experience working on-site at client locations managing stakeholder relationships and delivering transformation projects.
- Good understanding of industrial processes in sectors such as steel, automotive, heavy engineering, or manufacturing.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with climate risk assessments, carbon footprint calculations, and sustainability data management tools is highly desirable.
