As an Associate / Senior Associate, you will:
- Work with leading technology corporations, law firms, and industry experts on patent infringement and licensing matters.
- Work on cutting-edge technologies and closely collaborate with technical experts, attorneys, and licensing teams.
- Analyze complex products, technologies, and standards to identify potential infringement positions and supporting evidence.
- Assist global clients by delivering high-quality infringement analysis, evidence of use (EoU) studies, claim charts, reverse engineering-based assessments, and strategic IP insights.
- Get opportunities to independently investigate technical problems and develop structured, evidence-backed analytical approaches.
Job Description:
- Individual contributor responsible for providing patent infringement and technical analytics support.
- Must have experience in preparing client-ready deliverables including Evidence of Use (EoU) charts, claim charts, reverse mapping studies, product-feature mapping, standards mapping, and infringement analysis reports.
- Ability to understand patent claims and correlate them with product functionalities, technical specifications, standards documents, source code, SDKs/APIs, whitepapers, teardowns, and other publicly available evidence.
- Develop effective investigation and search strategies aligned with client objectives, with strong emphasis on smart searching and evidence identification.
- Hands-on experience in analyzing complex technologies, product ecosystems, and publicly available technical information to support infringement positions.
- Willingness to experiment and improve workflows through automation, macros, dashboards, report optimization, and AI/ML-assisted analysis.
- Contribute towards strengthening and scaling the infringement analytics vertical at Hourglass.
Desired Skillset:
- Hands-on experience across patent databases, technical literature, standards repositories, product documentation, developer resources, and open-source intelligence research.
- Strong understanding of patent claim interpretation and technical feature mapping methodologies.
- Ability to quickly understand and analyze complex technologies across Electronics, Computer Science, Communication, Semiconductor, Software, Networking, AI/ML, Mechanical, and related domains.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to technical accuracy and presentation quality.
- Ability to independently investigate technical problems while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in evidence collection and claim mapping.
Education / Professional Qualification and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, or related engineering disciplines.
- IP Experience: 1–3 years
