Role: Senior Associate – Procurement
The Senior Associate – Procurement will play a pivotal role in managing end-to-end procurement operations at Plaksha University, with a focus on Civil and MEP contracts, supplier management, and institutional compliance. The incumbent will be responsible for the full contract lifecycle, vendor development, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration — ensuring value-driven and policy-aligned procurement outcomes.
Job Description
Contract Management
- Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute contracts for the university, including Civil and MEP agreements.
- Maintain comprehensive contract documentation and proactively manage contract-related issues such as breach of contract and resolution — both internally and externally.
- Present contract information to relevant stakeholders and oversee the timely extension, renewal, or closure of contracts.
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Drive supplier selection through robust qualification processes that meet requirements on quality, delivery, and cost.
- Assess existing and prospective supplier capabilities to ensure they can meet performance, quality, cost, capacity, and fulfilment requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in the sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics, and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, clients, and other business connections, serving as a functional bridge between external vendors and internal stakeholders.
Procurement Operations
- Participate in formulating workflow processes, methods, and policies for engaging vendors.
- Identify areas for internal process improvement and collaborate closely with all internal stakeholders to design and implement effective solutions.
- Monitor supplier performance and provide structured feedback through scorecards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in preferably business management and/or a master's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Business Administration is an added advantage.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably within the education, infrastructure, or institutional sector.
- Experience in managing Civil and MEP contracts is strongly preferred.
SKILLS
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, contract law, and vendor management practices.
- Proficiency in end-to-end contract lifecycle management, including negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to engage cross-functional teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate commercial comparisons and make data-driven recommendations.
- High attention to detail, organizational discipline, and commitment to compliance and institutional integrity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
