About the Role
United Way of Hyderabad is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable finance professional to strengthen our accounting, compliance, and financial reporting functions.
The Senior Associate – Accounts will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, donor reporting accuracy, and strong internal controls across projects and organisational operations.
This is a hands-on role requiring ownership, precision, and a structured approach to financial management within the development sector.
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage day-to-day accounting transactions in Tally
- Ensure accurate ledger maintenance and reconciliations
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes
- Maintain proper documentation and audit-ready records
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Support statutory compliance (Income Tax, TDS, GST, etc.)
- Coordinate with auditors during internal and statutory audits
- Ensure adherence to donor compliance and fund utilization norms
3. Internal Controls & Governance
- Strengthen financial systems and documentation processes
- Monitor fund tracking and project-wise accounting
- Ensure compliance with organisational financial policies
- Identify gaps and recommend process improvements
4. Coordination & Support
- Work closely with program teams for budget tracking
- Support grant budgeting and financial reporting requirements
- Assist leadership with financial data and analysis as required
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Finance (M.Com preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Tally and advanced Excel
- Sound understanding of accounting standards and compliance frameworks
- Experience in NGO / development sector preferred
- High level of accuracy, accountability, and ownership
