What You Will Be Doing
- Architecting Self-Refining AI Content Systems – Designing agent-based pipelines that produce educational materials and continuously enhance performance through evaluation cycles and structured experimentation.
- Developing Evaluation Datasets & Testing Frameworks – Building curated data collections (input → desired output mappings) and scoring mechanisms to assess, benchmark, and refine the quality of AI-generated educational content.
- Engineering Context Packs – Constructing organized knowledge repositories that supply domain-specific grounding, empowering systems to generate precise, high-caliber educational materials across diverse subject areas.
Senior Applied AI Engineer Key Responsibilities

Basic Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of software engineering experience
- Demonstrated professional experience embedding LLMs into software products (simple chatbot implementations or basic coding assistant usage does not meet this criterion)
- Track record of deploying production systems featuring self-refining agents that drove system evolution (e.g., autonomous tool design, reward function optimization)
- Proven experience building evaluation or regression datasets that power self-improving architectures and establishing quantifiable success metrics
- Hands-on experience with contemporary agent-orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain)

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
