What You’ll Do
The primary function or overall purpose of this position:
- Work as a key member of the GSC COE Materials responsible for running Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) evaluations for several supply chain projects – resourcing, make vs. buy, localization, multi-sourcing, etc.
- Carry out rigorous analysis taking into consideration all cost factors, qualitative factors, and determining the best option in terms of lowest total cost, working capital while also keeping in view lead times.
- Analyze data to identify areas of supply chain design to improve efficiency.
- Liaison/Coordinate/Lead (as required) to develop projects to enhance supply chain design.
- Establish strong cross-functional relationships with SCM & Engineering teams
- Implement & support initiatives to increase adoption of TCO in the organization
List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) that must be accomplished in order to fulfill the purpose of your position as described above.
- Conduct TCO analysis to evaluate supply chain decisions through a series of “modelling and scenario building” exercises and simulations
- Determine opportunities for total cost, inventory, and led time reduction and recommend best alternative
- Work cross-functionally for data gathering, validation, and analysis with procurement, logistics, GTM, materials, quality and others as required
- Manage project workflow cycle to ensure timely and accurate deliverables
- Participate and drive cross-functional review meetings
- Manage high complexity TCO projects (make vs. buy, commodity inflation, network configuration projects)
- Lead meetings with senior leaders (directors, global category managers, finance controllers)
- Drive initiatives to collaborate & increase uptake of TCO across the organization
- Identify & develop new application areas for TCO solution by collaborating with other functions
- As a functional expert, mentor new team members
- Work on Network Design (high complexity) analytical projects
Qualifications
- Bachelors with about 8-12 years of experience in Supply Chain
- Masters qualification preferred.
Skills
Basic Knowledge (Foundation):
- Strong analytical skills, end to end supply chain knowledge, fair understanding of top line & bottom-line cost factors, and product & manufacturing process.
- Experience analyzing and improving supply chain data, information, and processes
- Exceptional ability to conceptualize large-picture projects and foresee challenge and needs to be addressed
- Ability to manage multiple projects/activities, project management skills
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams across the globe
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization (customers, marketing, engineering, quality, and manufacturing)
