Job Description: SAP BPC / SAC Support Consultant (L1 – Finance-facing)
Role Summary
Provide day-to-day support for SAP BPC and SAC applications from a Finance user perspective. Act as the first point of contact (L1) for business users and coordinate with offshore IT AMS team for L2 issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities
1. User Support (Primary responsibility)
- Act as first-level support for Finance users (planning, forecasting, reporting)
- Respond to user queries and issues during business hours and close cycles
- Provide guidance on system usage (input schedules, reports, dashboards)
2. Incident & Ticket Management
- Log, track, and prioritize support tickets
- Perform basic issue triage (data issues, report errors, access issues)
- Resolve simple issues independently where possible
- Escalate complex issues to IT AMS (L2) with proper documentation
👉 Example issues from enterprise context:
- Data load or refresh issues
- Report or story errors
- Access or security issues
3. Close & Planning Cycle Support
- Support month-end / forecast / budget cycles
- Monitor system performance and data completion during close
- Assist Finance users with validation and reconciliation
👉 Close support is highlighted as a critical Finance-facing responsibility
4. Coordination with IT (L2 Support)
- Work closely with offshore AMS team for issue resolution
- Provide clear functional details and business impact
- Track escalations and ensure timely closure
5. Basic Administration Support
- Support basic user and access requests (add/remove users, roles coordination)
- Monitor routine jobs (data loads, process chains, refresh jobs)
- Maintain simple master data changes (if applicable)
👉 SAC/BPC admin tasks often include user access and system monitoring
6. Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain FAQs and user guides
- Document recurring issues and solutions
- Support training for Finance users
Required Skills (Simple & Practical)
Functional
- Understanding of Finance processes (Planning, Forecasting, Consolidation)
- Hands-on exposure to SAP BPC and SAC
Technical Awareness (Not deep IT)
- Basic understanding of:
- Data loads / refresh
- Reports and dashboards
- User access concepts
Soft Skills
- Strong communication (finance users + IT teams)
- Structured problem-solving
- Ability to work during critical close cycles
