About the Role:
Elume AI is building the future of hybrid clinical coaching and virtual patient engagement. We are scaling our real-time, AI-driven virtual clinical avatar platform.
You will be the primary bridge between cutting-edge conversational AI (LLMs/Agents) and low-latency infrastructure.
Architecture Design & Scaling: Architect a system capable of managing high concurrency without latency degradation.
Code Auditing & Optimization: Rapidly read, refactor code. Shift prototypes into modular, typed, unit-tested, and secure production code.
Agent Flow & Tool Integration: Optimize the LLM decision loop to ensure conversational tools fire accurately and instantly.
RTC DevOps: Configure and maintain LiveKit Server clusters (SFU), TURN/STUN servers, and containerized RTC services (Docker/Kubernetes) on GCP or AWS.
Candidate Requirements
Proven WebRTC Mastery: 3+ years of production experience building and scaling WebRTC applications. Deep understanding of SFUs/MCUs (LiveKit, Mediasoup, Pion, or Janus), TURN/STUN configurations, and network transport issues (UDP, packet loss recovery).
AI Agent Engineering: Practical experience building production systems utilizing tool-calling, agent frameworks (like LiveKit Agents, LangChain, or custom loops), and integrating third-party TTS/STT APIs.
High Agency & Fast Execution: You thrive in startup environments. You can dissect, debug, and fix complex system issues rapidly. You know how to leverage AI tools to build faster, but you also know exactly where AI-generated code breaks and how to write the missing systems-level logic yourself.
Strong Fundamentals: Highly proficient in Python and/or Go, typescript, react, nextjs. Experience with concurrency models (asyncio, goroutines) and highly responsive APIs (FastAPI).
Nice-to-Haves
Experience working in HIPAA-regulated environments or digital health startups.
Deep knowledge of FHIR standard, Epic App Orchard / SMART on FHIR oauth flows, or GCP Cloud Healthcare API.
Active open-source contributions to WebRTC or AI agent libraries.
