Role Description The Senior AI Voice & VoIP Platform Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable voice platforms using Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS, and related technologies in a cloud-based environment. This full-time remote role involves architecting and optimizing VoIP infrastructure, integrating AI-driven voice features, and ensuring high availability, low latency, and secure communication across multiple regions. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing SIP routing, dialplans, IVR flows, and call recording solutions, as well as monitoring performance, diagnosing issues, and driving continuous improvement. The engineer will collaborate with software developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to integrate voice services into web and mobile applications, automate deployment pipelines, and support new features from concept to production. The role also includes creating technical documentation, mentoring team members, and providing advanced technical support for complex telephony and networking problems.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Voice over IP (VoIP) and Telephony platforms, including hands-on experience with Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, OpenSIPS, and SIP-based systems.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting complex voice, signaling, and media issues, including analyzing logs, traces, and call flows.
- Solid Networking skills, including TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, NAT traversal, firewalls, and QoS for real-time communication.
- Experience providing advanced Technical Support for VoIP and telephony environments, including incident response and root-cause analysis.
- Background in integrating AI/ML or speech technologies (e.g., speech-to-text, text-to-speech, conversational IVR, voice bots) into communication platforms.
- Knowledge of Linux system administration, scripting (e.g., Bash, Python), and automation tools for deployment and monitoring.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containers (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines
