Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Senior AI/ML Engineer located in Bengaluru. The Senior AI/ML Engineer will design, develop, and implement artificial intelligence and machine learning models and systems to address complex healthcare challenges. In this role, the AI/ML Engineer/Modeler will play a crucial part in designing and implementing models. He/She will be closely working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists to build scalable Healthcare AI solutions that deliver tangible results.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding and exposure in Gen AI, Natural language processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), NER (Named Entity recognition). Proficiency in ML, data preprocessing techniques, feature engineering, and model evaluation
- Experience in LLMs transformers, text embeddings, RAG, Reinforcement learning for alignment, Fine tuning techniques such as LoRA, PEFT, Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) with instruction data, and Knowledge Distillation to create smaller models
- Experience with Hugging Face, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, Lang chain, Llama Index
- Implement Agentic workflows where necessary. Understanding of structured outputs, output validation and other agentic concepts will be a plus
- Strong programming skills in Python, R
- Experience with designing scalable software systems for classification, text extraction/summary, data connectors for different formats (pdf, csv, doc, etc)
- Understanding of healthcare systems, EHR standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7), and value-based care metrics.
- Knowledge of MLOps tools and practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
- Understanding of healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and Security/Privacy)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure Cloud.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development: Develop and deploy LLMs /ML models to automate Healthcare RCM processes, including denial management, medical coding, prior authorization and eligibility verification.
- Algorithm Optimization: Optimize AI/ML algorithms for performance, accuracy
- Data Processing: Work with large-scale healthcare data sets to preprocess and transform data for model training and inference.
- MLOps: Implement MLOps best practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, model versioning, and monitoring.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with software engineers to integrate AI/ML models into production systems, ensuring seamless integration and real-time processing.
- Research & Innovation: Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and apply cutting-edge techniques to solve complex RCM challenges.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor model performance in production, troubleshoot issues, and iterate on models to improve accuracy and reliability.
- Documentation: Document model development processes, including design decisions, testing procedures, and performance metrics.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. Phd is a plus.
- 4+ years of experience in AI/ML for Sr AI/ML Engineer, 2+ years experience for AI/ML engineer
- Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with RCM processes, is a plus.
