Role Overview
We are hiring a Senior AI Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of advanced AI systems across multiple business units. This is a contract-based, hybrid role requiring high-impact contribution with limited but consistent daily availability (approx. 2 hours aligned with UK time).
This role is ideal for a highly experienced professional who can operate independently, deliver strategic technical direction, and execute efficiently within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-powered systems, including:
- AI agents (inbound/outbound, conversational systems)
- Automation workflows
- LLM-based applications (RAG, copilots, assistants)
- Lead architecture decisions for:
- Scalable AI infrastructure
- API integrations and system orchestration
- Cloud-based AI deployments
- Build and optimize:
- Prompt engineering pipelines
- Data pipelines for AI training and inference
- Performance tuning for real-time AI systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to:
- Translate business requirements into AI solutions
- Support ongoing AI projects and deployments
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems
- Provide technical guidance and validation on:
- AI tools and frameworks
- Vendor solutions and integrations
- System design and scalability
Working Structure
- Engagement Type: Contract-based
- Work Mode: Hybrid (Remote + occasional strategic involvement)
- Availability: Minimum 2 hours daily (UK time zone overlap required)
- Flexibility: Additional hours as per project needs (optional/negotiable)
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering or related roles
- Strong experience with:
- LLMs (e.g., GPT-based systems)
- AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.)
- Python and backend development
- API integrations and microservices architecture
- Hands-on experience in:
- Building AI agents / automation systems
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Conversational AI / voice systems
- Familiarity with:
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, etc.)
- Deployment and scaling of AI systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with global teams across time zones
- Exposure to AI-driven business automation (sales, HR, support systems)
- Prior work in startup or fast-scaling environments
- Strong problem-solving and independent execution ability
