About the role:
We're hiring a senior AI engineer to build production-grade AI systems. You'll work directly with the founders across agent orchestration, evaluation systems, backend infrastructure, LLM integrations, and core platform architecture. This is a high-ownership role focused on building reliable AI systems that work in production.
You'll help shape Syrin's core agent harness and experimentation platform. The product direction is deeply informed by conversations with engineering teams deploying agents in production, and this role will directly influence what we build next.
What you'll do:
- Design, build, and ship AI systems from prototype to production
- Build agent orchestration, evaluation, and observability systems
- Work with LLMs, RAG pipelines, inference workflows, and multi-agent architectures
- Improve reliability, latency, and cost across production AI workloads
- Write clean, maintainable Python and backend systems
- Make architectural decisions, own tradeoffs, and move quickly with real user feedback
What we are looking for:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Meaningful hands-on experience building and deploying AI/LLM systems
- Experience shipping production AI systems
- Strong understanding of the full agent lifecycle: orchestration, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, iteration
- Strong Python and backend engineering fundamentals
- Familiarity with frameworks like LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, OpenAI Agents SDK, or custom agent stacks
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership and ambiguity
- Clear communicator who can think independently and execute quickly
Bonus:
- Experience designing evals, benchmarks, or experimentation frameworks
- Strong opinions about what breaks in production AI systems
- Experience working in early-stage startups
- Open-source contributions
- Experience with distributed systems, infra, or developer tooling
