Role Description The Senior Admissions Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru. This role involves meeting and counseling prospective students and families, understanding their academic background and career goals, and recommending suitable courses, institutions, and pathways. The counselor guides applicants through application and admission procedures, provides updates on deadlines and documentation requirements, and supports them in preparing for interviews, tests, or counseling sessions. Day-to-day tasks include conducting counseling sessions, responding to inquiries, maintaining accurate records in internal systems, coordinating with partner institutions, and contributing to outreach activities such as seminars or information sessions. The Senior Admissions Counselor is also expected to mentor junior counselors, support enrollment targets ethically, and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for every candidate.
Qualifications
- Strong Interpersonal Communication and Communication skills to counsel diverse students and families effectively.
- Customer Service skills to handle inquiries, resolve concerns, and maintain a supportive, professional candidate experience.
- Sales skills to ethically promote suitable programs and support enrollment goals while prioritizing candidate needs.
- Education-related knowledge or experience to understand academic pathways, admission processes, and institutional requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or Management is an advantage.
- Experience in student counseling, admissions, or educational consulting, preferably in a senior or lead role.
- Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency in MS Office or similar tools; familiarity with CRM or admissions management systems is beneficial.
- Comfort communicating in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
