GBR Fertility Centre, Chennai is looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Accounts Executive to independently manage and oversee the day-to-day Accounts & Finance functions of the hospital.
The ideal candidate should have strong accounting fundamentals, excellent working knowledge of Tally and Microsoft Excel, and practical experience handling the financial operations of a hospital, including OPD, IPD, admissions, billing and revenue reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
Hospital Revenue & Collections
- Monitor and reconcile daily collections from OPD, IPD, pharmacy, laboratory, procedures and other hospital services.
- Verify cash, card, UPI, bank transfer and other collections against billing reports.
- Reconcile daily billing, collections, cancellations, refunds, discounts and outstanding amounts.
- Ensure proper accounting and settlement of revenue from various hospital departments.
- Coordinate with billing, front office, admissions and other departments to resolve discrepancies.
Accounts & Banking
- Maintain complete books of accounts in Tally with accurate and timely entries.
- Handle cash and bank accounting and maintain proper supporting documentation.
- Prepare daily and monthly Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS).
- Monitor bank balances, receipts and payments.
- Maintain proper accounting of advances, deposits, receivables and payables.
- Assist management with cash-flow monitoring and fund requirements.
Purchases & Vendor Payments
- Account for purchases, expenses and vendor invoices.
- Verify invoices against purchase orders, approvals and supporting documents.
- Maintain vendor ledgers and reconcile vendor balances periodically.
- Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely payment to suppliers and service providers.
- Monitor outstanding payables and ensure proper documentation before payments.
Payroll & Employee-Related Accounts
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing.
- Account for salaries, incentives, deductions, advances and reimbursements.
- Ensure timely payment and accounting of employee-related statutory obligations.
Statutory & Tax Compliance
- Coordinate and ensure timely compliance relating to GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain proper records required for GST/TDS filings and statutory audits.
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, consultants and statutory authorities whenever required.
- Ensure statutory payments and filings are completed within prescribed timelines.
MIS, Controls & Management Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly revenue and collection reports.
- Prepare department-wise and service-wise revenue analysis as required.
- Track receivables, payables, expenses and outstanding balances.
- Assist in preparation of monthly EBITDA, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and other MIS reports.
- Support budgeting, variance analysis and financial planning.
- Strengthen internal controls relating to billing, collections, payments and accounting.
- Identify revenue leakage, accounting discrepancies and process gaps and bring them to management's attention.
Audit & Financial Closing
- Handle monthly and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain schedules and supporting documents for all major ledger accounts.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors and tax consultants.
- Assist in preparation of information required for annual accounts, income-tax and other statutory filings.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Has 7β10+ years of relevant Accounts & Finance experience.
- Has substantial prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare organisation β mandatory.
- Is a B.Com / M.Com graduate, CA Inter, or possesses an equivalent accounting qualification.
- Has excellent hands-on knowledge of Tally / Tally Prime.
- Has strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS and reconciliation/analysis of large data sets.
- Understands hospital workflows including OPD, IPD, admissions, billing, discharge, pharmacy and other revenue centres.
- Has sound knowledge of accounting principles, BRS, vendor accounting, receivables, payroll and statutory compliance.
- Is capable of independently handling the day-to-day Accounts & Finance function.
- Is organised, detail-oriented and able to work with multiple hospital departments.
- Has high standards of integrity, confidentiality and financial discipline.
Preferred
Candidates who have previously worked as a Senior Accounts Executive / Accounts Manager / Senior Accountant in a hospital, fertility centre, diagnostic centre or established healthcare organisation will be preferred.
