Role Summary
The Senior Accountant – jewelry Inventory is responsible for end-to-end management of
high-value jewelry inventory, including gold, diamonds, and color stones, while ensuring
accurate accounting, compliance, and audit readiness. The role involves stock tracking,
job work monitoring, production accounting, closing stock verification, and MIS
reporting.
This position acts as the key link between stores, production, job workers, and auditors,
maintaining internal controls, loss prevention, and statutory compliance. The ideal
candidate has strong accounting expertise, jewelry inventory knowledge, ERP
proficiency, and analytical skills, ensuring the company’s assets are accurately recorded,
valued, and safeguarded.

Qualification & Experience
B.Com / M.Com; CA / CMA / CA-Inter preferred
5–10+ years accounting experience, with strong exposure to the jewelry industry
Sound knowledge of GST, Income Tax & accounting standards
Jewelry Inventory Management
Handling inventory of gold, Platinum, Silver, diamonds & color stones
Gold stock control in grams & purity-wise
Diamond stock control carat-wise, quality-wise (cut, color, clarity)
Color stone inventory carat-wise, quality-wise
Inventory valuation
Job Work Tracking
Issuing gold, diamonds & stones to job workers with proper challans
Tracking job work receipts, wastage & process loss
Job worker-wise reconciliation
Accounting of making charges, & repairing costs
Monitoring outstanding job work balances & ageing
Production & WIP Accounting
Production entries for material issued & finished goods received
Maintaining Work-in-Progress (WIP) records
Accounting for melting, refining & recovery
Allocation of production overheads & making charges
Inward–Outward yield analysis & variance reporting
Closing Stock Taking
Daily / Monthly / quarterly / annual physical stock verification
Closing stock calculation for gold, diamonds, color stones & finished jewelry
Reconciliation of physical stock vs ERP records
Identification of shortages, excess & wastage
Preparation of closing stock statements for final accounts
Audit, Compliance & Controls
Handling statutory, tax, GST & internal audits
Preparation of inventory & job work audit schedules
Explaining stock valuation & variances to auditors
Implementing internal controls & loss prevention systems
Ensuring compliance with GST, IT & documentation requirements
Systems, Reporting & MIS
Expertise in Tally / jewelry ERP systems
Strong Excel skills for reconciliation & MIS
Management reports on stock, job work, production & cost analysis
Coordination with Inventory team, production, auditors & management
