Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Senior Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense tracking. The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring timely month-end and year-end closing, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with applicable accounting standards and local regulations. The Senior Accountant will coordinate with internal stakeholders and external auditors, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide financial analysis to assist management in decision-making. The role also includes improving accounting procedures, implementing internal controls, and supporting finance-related projects as the company scales.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and practices, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Proficiency with accounting and ERP software, advanced MS Excel skills, and comfort working with data for analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with Indian taxation, compliance requirements, and coordination with auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in FMCG, F&B, retail, or hospitality sectors.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a high level of integrity and accountability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
