Role Description The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and maintenance of financial records. The Senior Accountant prepares financial statements, supports budgeting and forecasting, and ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. The role includes reviewing financial data for accuracy, analyzing variances, and providing insights to management to support decision-making. The Senior Accountant also collaborates with internal teams and external auditors, assists with process improvements, and supports the implementation of best practices in financial controls.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting and finance skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to work with spreadsheets, financial models, and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements applicable in India.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in financial documentation, and strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications such as CA, CMA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a senior accounting or similar role; exposure to maritime or logistics industries is beneficial but not mandatory.
