Role Description The Senior Accountant role at Jk & Associate is a full-time, on-site position based in Mysore. This role is responsible for overseeing general ledger activities, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include managing month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, reviewing journal entries, and supporting audits. The Senior Accountant will analyze financial data, identify variances, and provide recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency. The role also involves supervising junior accounting staff, reviewing their work, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address financial queries and support business planning.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and tax regulations, with experience in compliance and audit support.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as within a team.
- Experience mentoring or supervising junior accounting staff is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CMA, or CPA equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a public accounting firm or corporate finance environment is beneficial.
