Role Description
The Senior Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru.
Key responsibilites
- Prepare, test, and maintain journal entries across diverse accounting areas in line with US GAAP and corporate policies, ensuring timely close cycles.
- Review expense contracts for compliance with US GAAP and Intuit’s expense principles.
- Support month- and quarter-end close processes, including compensation accruals and quarterly FLUX commentaries.
- Assess risks within assigned accounts, applying sound judgment to safeguard financial integrity of entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Research technical accounting issues, draft white papers documenting conclusions, and communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Apply appropriate accounting treatments for journal entries and audit evidence, supporting compliance with technical standards.
- Prepare management reports and schedules, and provide documentation requested by internal and external auditors.
- Strengthen compliance, streamline processes, and enhance internal controls within areas of responsibility.
- Develop a strong understanding of business unit strategies, priorities, and market dynamics.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial statement audits and control testing.
- Design and update desktop procedures to optimize workflows, internal controls, and efficiency.
Qualifications & skills
- CA/CPA/CMA is a must
- 4+ years of technical accounting experience with accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Candidates should have strong technical (GAAP) and financial accounting skills and public accounting, or large public company experience is strongly preferred.
- Software industry and Shared Service Center experience a plus
- Analytical thinker who can identify and implement effective process improvements.
- Large accounting software package expertise (Oracle financials, Blackline etc.)
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and multitasking skills, strong written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding Excel skills
