The Inspire Brands Hyderabad Support Center will focus on developing new capabilities in data science, data analytics, eCommerce, automation, cloud computing, and information security to accelerate the companys business strategy. Inspire Brands Hyderabad Support Center will also host an innovation lab and collaborate with start-ups to develop solutions for productivity optimization, workforce management, loyalty management, payments systems, and more.
POSITION TITLE: Sr. Accountant
The Senior Accounting assists the manager in leading and oversight for the accounting team, inclusive of internal reporting and consolidation, shared service or fund expenses and significant accruals. Responsibilities include the completion of complex and technical accounting transactions, review of general activity and balances, balance sheet reconciliation completion, and various flux analyses. Responsible for accurate and timely accounting and reporting, with controls execution. Participate in special projects and company-wide initiatives, as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate under policies and established procedures in alignment with GAAP, including adherence to accounting standards. Account for end-to-end global processes, including elimination of intercompany transactions. Prepare and record accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Assist in training other accountants and leading the accounting team under the Managers direction. Complete daily accounting, recording, and reconciliation of accounting transactions and advise on proper treatment of accounting issues in accordance with GAAP.
- Provide support in monitoring and streamlining of the monthly and quarterly close process to ensure the process is efficient and effective in providing accurate and timely financial information and related reports. Communicate effectively across the organization regarding business and accounting issues, policies and procedures to ensure accurate accounting in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist leadership in identifying and implementing inter and intra department process improvements and enhancements. Foster an environment of continuous improvement within and among other departments concerning the accuracy of all transactions entered to the general ledger and G&A information provided to Management.
- Assist in the interim and annual audit process with all external auditors, including supervising and assisting in the preparation of the audit schedules with all departments. Coordinate and review assigned financial statements and footnotes to financial statements.
- Responsible for financial close activities including completion of analytics and internal controls. Prepare support for audits and associated operational activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Respond to requests for information from senior management, FP&A, Tax, IA, Legal, and other functional areas of the business.
- Help foster an environment of continuous improvement within and among other departments concerning the accuracy of all transactions entered into the general ledger.
- Liaise with the Legal, FP&A, Franchise Services and Operations teams to understand and help ensure proper recognition treatment. Coordinate with internal and external auditors for accounting inquiries, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Perform ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) candidate preferred.
Experience Qualifications
- 5 - 7 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in Public Company and technical accounting experience preferred. Experience in preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
- Experience working as part of and contributing to a larger team.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS Or ABILITIES
- Strong written communication skills.
- Aptitude for learning new systems.
- Ability to work independently and meet multiple, concurrent and aggressive deadlines.
- Positive attitude with the willingness to accept flexibility in assignments and the desire to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to excel.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Or Abilities
- Experience with Oracle or other major ERP systems.
