Senior Accountant - Liquor Retail Industry
Location: Hyderabad
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Finance Head
We are looking for a Senior Accountant with strong experience in accounting, taxation, inventory control and statutory compliance. Experience in the liquor retail industry and State Excise compliance will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, journal entries and financial transactions.
- Handle AP/AR, bank, cash and ledger reconciliations.
- Manage month-end/year-end closing and financial reporting.
- Prepare and file GST, TDS, TCS and other statutory compliances.
- Reconcile GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and GSTR-2B.
- Manage liquor purchase invoices, excise documentation and State Excise compliance.
- Reconcile physical stock with ERP records and investigate shortages, damages and variances.
- Prepare daily/monthly MIS, sales, margin, profitability and cash-flow reports.
- Support internal/statutory audits and maintain strong financial controls.
- Coordinate with Operations, Stores, Procurement, Auditors and Tax Consultants.
- Maintain accurate ERP records and support process improvements.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, TCS and statutory compliance.
- Experience in liquor retail / FMCG / retail preferred.
- Knowledge of State Excise regulations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Tally / SAP / Oracle / other ERP systems.
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
- Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail, integrity and ability to meet deadlines.
