Role Description
The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and monthly closing activities. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing budgets, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring accurate recording of travel-related revenue and expenses. The Senior Accountant will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation rules, and internal control procedures, while supporting audits and regulatory filings. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Kolkata Area, working closely with management to provide financial insights that support business decisions and growth.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core accounting practices, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of taxation laws, compliance requirements, and audit processes, preferably within the service or travel industry.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced skills in MS Excel and related financial tools.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills for managing complex financial data.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role; experience in travel, hospitality, or service sectors is beneficial.
