Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Work from Office
Shift: UK Shift (1 PM to 10 PM IST)
Qualification: B.Com + Semi-Qualified CA (IPCC / Intermediate Cleared)
About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant with 3+ years of hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting operations in an Indian business environment. The ideal candidate will be a Semi-Qualified CA (B.Com graduate with IPCC/Intermediate level cleared) who possesses strong technical acumen, a thorough understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks, and a proven track record of independently handling MIS reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Accounting & Day-to-Day Operations
- Manage complete bookkeeping and accounting in Tally ERP / Zoho Books or equivalent accounting software.
- Record and review journal entries, ledger postings, purchase and sales transactions with accuracy.
- Maintain accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) including vendor & customer reconciliations.
- Process employee expense claims, petty cash, and reimbursements.
- Preparation and review of Bank Reconciliation Statements (BRS) on a daily/weekly basis.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual books of accounts.
2. MIS Reporting & Financial Analysis
- Prepare accurate Monthly MIS Reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, and Budget vs. Actuals.
- Maintain treasury reports for management decision-making.
- Coordinate with department heads for data inputs and ensure timely MIS delivery.
3. Statutory Compliance , Taxation and Accounts Finalization.
- Ensure timely computation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9/9C), TDS/TCS returns (24Q, 26Q), and other statutory filings.
- Handle PF, ESI, PT, and other payroll-related statutory compliances.
- Assist in advance tax computation and income tax return preparation for the company.
- Liaise with internal / external auditors and provide necessary documentation for statutory and tax audits.
- Maintain compliance calendar and ensure zero-default culture in all regulatory filings.
- Assist in preparation of annual financial statements. Prepare schedules, notes to accounts, and supporting documents for audit purposes.
4. Consolidation of Accounts (Added Advantage)
- Assist in preparation of consolidated financial statements for group entities / subsidiaries as per Ind AS 110 /AS 21.
- Perform inter-company eliminations and maintain Intercompany loan schedules.
- Reconcile inter-company transactions and balances across entities.
- Support group-level reporting and ensure consistency of accounting policies across entities.
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Tally Prime / ERP / SAP B1 / Oracle NetSuite or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS / AS), Companies Act 2013, GST, and Income Tax.
- Advanced MS Excel skills VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, IF formulas, and financial modelling.
- Experience in preparation and presentation of MIS reports and financial dashboards.
- Working knowledge of consolidation accounting and group reporting (preferred).
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 -4 years of post-qualification / post-articleship experience in core accounting roles.
- Hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting in an Indian company preferably in service industry.
- Demonstrated experience in MIS preparation and reporting to senior management.
- Prior experience handling GST, TDS filings and working with auditors independently.
- Experience in group consolidation will be treated as a strong added advantage.
