Role Description The Senior Accountant at Arc One is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and reconciliation of accounts. The Senior Accountant prepares and reviews financial statements, monitors budgets and cash flow, and ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations. The role involves overseeing accounts payable and receivable, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors, and supporting management with regular financial analysis and reporting. The Senior Accountant also contributes to process improvements, helps implement internal controls, and provides guidance to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in a commercial or retail environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with advanced MS Excel skills
- Understanding of local taxation, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards applicable in India
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and present clear, actionable insights to management
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Relevant academic background such as a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA) are an advantage
- Prior experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role, preferably within home décor, retail, or related industries
