Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining statutory compliance, overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, and supporting financial planning and analysis. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple financial processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Monitor cash flow, verify financial transactions, and maintain proper documentation.
Compliance & Taxation:
- Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities during audits and assessments.
- Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis:
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial reports and provide insights to support business decisions.
- Monitor expenses and recommend cost-control measures to improve financial performance.
Team Coordination:
- Supervise and guide junior accounting staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve accounting and financial queries.
- Ensure timely completion of financial reports and accounting activities.
MIS & Reporting:
- Prepare MIS reports, management reports, and financial dashboards as required.
- Present financial data and variance analysis to management for decision-making.
- Support process improvements and implementation of accounting best practices.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience of 5+ years as a Senior Accountant or similar role, preferably in the Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Retail, or Manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
- Experience in handling audits, taxation, reconciliations, payroll accounting, and MIS reporting.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP/Tally Prime, MS Excel, and other accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), M.Com, or equivalent qualification preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This role requires working from the corporate office during regular business hours, with flexibility during month-end and year-end closing periods.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Occasionally required to support audit and statutory compliance activities beyond regular working hours.
