Role Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Xero Bookkeeper to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting for an international e-commerce client operating across the US and Indonesia.
The role will work directly under the supervision of a CPA/CA and will be responsible for keeping the books current, accurate and ready for monthly reporting.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting in Xero
* Bank and credit-card reconciliations
* Review and record sales, expenses, supplier bills and other transactions
* Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
* Maintain intercompany balances between entities
* Support weekly cash-flow, AR and AP tracking
* Review e-commerce sales and settlement accounting
* Assist with inventory and COGS accounting
* Perform month-end reconciliations and closing entries
* Prepare monthly P&L and Balance Sheet for review
* Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and historical open items
* Coordinate with internal/client teams for missing documents and accounting queries
* Maintain proper documentation and working papers
Systems / Tools
Strong hands-on experience with Xero is essential.
Experience with any of the following will be an advantage:
* Dext
* Shopify
* A2X
* Cin7
* Inventory accounting systems
* E-commerce bookkeeping
* Multi-currency / multi-entity accounting
Prior experience with all of these tools is not mandatory. Strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to understand and learn new accounting workflows are more important.
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting / bookkeeping experience
* Strong practical experience with Xero
* Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, accruals and month-end closing
* Experience handling AR, AP, bank reconciliation and Balance Sheet reconciliations
* Ability to independently own a client’s accounting workflow
* Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
* Good written and spoken English
* Strong attention to detail and ability to identify accounting issues rather than simply process transactions
* Comfortable working with international clients and remote teams
Preferred
* E-commerce accounting experience
* Inventory / COGS accounting experience
* Experience working with US, Australian or international clients
* Experience managing accounting for multiple entities
* Exposure to Shopify, A2X, Dext or Cin7
What We Are Looking For
This is not a basic data-entry bookkeeping role.
We are looking for someone who can take responsibility for the accounting of the client, understand how the different systems flow into Xero, identify exceptions, keep reconciliations current and ensure month-end closing is completed on time.
You will work under the direct supervision of an experienced CA / CPA, with an opportunity to gain exposure to international e-commerce accounting, multi-entity structures and modern finance systems.
