Role Description The Senior Accountant – Taxation & Compliance is a full-time, on-site role based in Ranchi. This role is responsible for managing direct and indirect tax compliance, including preparation and filing of tax returns, GST, TDS, and other statutory obligations. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining accurate books of accounts, reviewing ledger entries, supporting audits, reconciling accounts, and ensuring adherence to applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will monitor changes in tax laws, coordinate with external auditors and consultants, prepare periodic financial and compliance reports, and support management with tax planning and risk mitigation. The role also involves implementing and improving internal controls, assisting in budgeting and cost analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial data.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and statutory compliance, with hands-on experience in taxation (direct and indirect) and regulatory filings.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, along with solid skills in MS Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Experience in audit support, documentation, reconciliation, and internal control processes within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to interpret and apply tax laws and amendments, analyze complex financial data, and prepare clear, accurate reports for management and authorities.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and compliance.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CMA, or a master’s degree in Accounting/Finance, with relevant experience in taxation and compliance; experience in heavy industry or power sector is an advantage.
