Role Description The Senior Academic Counselor will work full time on-site at the Sholinganallur, Chennai campus, guiding prospective and current learners through academic choices and career pathways. Responsibilities include conducting one-on-one and group counseling sessions, understanding learners’ goals, and recommending suitable BIA courses and programs. The role involves managing the admissions counseling process, explaining program structures, helping with documentation, and following up with applicants to support enrollment decisions. The counselor will collaborate with faculty and administrative teams to monitor student progress, provide academic advising, and address learner concerns in a timely manner. Day-to-day tasks also include participating in information sessions, seminars, and outreach activities, maintaining accurate records in CRM or student management systems, and contributing to continuous improvement of counseling processes and learner experience.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Expereince - 0-2 years in relevant field (Salary upto Rs. 2.5 lpa plus Incentive )
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to support learners in making informed educational and professional decisions.
- Candidates should possess effective Academic Advising and Education-related skills to guide students on course selection, program requirements, and academic progression.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication, active listening, and the ability to explain complex information in an accessible manner.
- Relevant experience as an academic counselor, career advisor, or similar role in higher education or training institutes is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with technology and analytics programs (e.g., Data Science, AI, Cyber Security, Digital Marketing) and current industry trends is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a learner-focused mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively within academic and administrative teams.
