Role Description The Senior Academic Counselor will provide comprehensive guidance to students seeking overseas education opportunities, including program selection, university shortlisting, and application planning. This full-time, on-site role based in Thiruvananthapuram involves conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, organizing information sessions, and advising on scholarships, visa requirements, and career pathways. The counselor will collaborate with internal teams to maintain accurate information on international institutions, admission criteria, and timelines, while ensuring a high standard of service and ethical advising. Daily responsibilities include reviewing student profiles, recommending suitable study destinations, tracking application progress, and maintaining detailed records and reports. The role also requires building and maintaining relationships with partner institutions and supporting marketing or outreach activities related to international education.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support learners in choosing appropriate courses and institutions.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to conduct clear, empathetic, and professional interactions with students, families, and stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Career Counseling and Education-related knowledge to guide students on long-term academic and professional pathways.
- Experience in international education consulting, university admissions, or related fields is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Ability to work with diverse student backgrounds, manage multiple cases simultaneously, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Proficiency with basic office software and online communication tools; familiarity with global education systems is an advantage.
