Position: Logistics Support Specialist

Shift: 8am-4pm (M-F)

This position has split floor and office responsibility. This person will physically unload/load trailers and put together shipments while out on the floor. They will handle the driver window, put together shipment paperwork and route customer orders while in the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

• Provide frontline support for daily logistics operations.
• Load and unload trailers, trucks, and containers in a safe and efficient manner.
• Pick and palletize customer shipments.
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized and efficiently maintained.
• Demonstrate personal safety and help maintain a safe work environment for themselves and fellow members of the DSC-1 team. Responsible for following all company safety rules and guidelines.
• Understand and fully comply with the Sellars’ concept of “move to the work.” This means ensuring all tasks required to operate efficiently.
• Responsible for preparing orders for shipment including contacting customer carrier of choice, completing paperwork, establishing date of shipment and delivery while prioritizing customer orders.
• Ensure quality standards and workmanship standards for Sellars products are met on a continuing basis.•Contact freight companies (and drivers), as well as use customer software to coordinate dock appointments and manage the dock schedule.
• Review and ensure we are following customer requirements.
• Assist with Cycle Counting Finished Goods, Raw Materials, and maintaining overall inventory accuracy.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of the workings of a distribution center.
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstrated capability to function within a team setting.
• Flexibility in work assignments and overtime hours.
• Positive work attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
• Good communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Ability to exercise professionalism, courtesy and tact in dealing with all members of the Sellars organization and external resources.

Education and Experience Required

• Prior experience working in a warehouse/Distribution Center is preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in material handling required.
• Prior experience preparing shipping paperwork and scheduling customer orders.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
