Role Description The Security Head is a full-time, on-site leadership role based at the Birla Global University campus in Bhubaneswar. This role involves overseeing all campus security operations, including the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. The Security Head will manage and supervise security personnel, coordinate shift schedules, and ensure consistent vigilance across all university facilities. Daily responsibilities include monitoring access control systems, reviewing security reports, conducting regular safety inspections, and collaborating with administrative leadership on risk assessment and mitigation. The role also requires liaison with local law enforcement and emergency services, conducting security awareness programs for students and staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant safety and security regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security management, preferably in an educational institution, corporate campus, or similar large facility.
- Strong skills in risk assessment, emergency planning, and incident response, with the ability to implement and enforce security protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, including supervising security staff, handling shift deployments, and conducting training.
- Knowledge of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, alarm systems) and familiarity with relevant safety and security regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination skills for working with university leadership, external agencies, and diverse campus stakeholders.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and integrity.
- Relevant educational background, such as a bachelor’s degree in security management, criminology, administration, or a related field; ex-defense or law enforcement experience is an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by campus security needs.
