Senior Security Engineer – Security Automation & Platform Engineering

Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to design and implement security automation for Akamai Origin Lockdown, WAF, perimeter security, and security orchestration. The role combines security engineering, software development, cloud infrastructure, and Infrastructure as Code. The engineer will work with Akamai, Network, DNS, AppSec, and Platform Engineering teams to deliver secure-by-default automated solutions.
Required Skills
- Security: Application Security, Web/API Security, WAF, Akamai, TLS/SSL, Certificates, Secrets Management
- Automation & IaC: Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, Security as Code, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Configuration/Policy Automation
- Development: Python plus Java or Go, REST APIs, API integrations, Microservices
- Cloud: GCP, Kubernetes/GKE, Container Security, Cloud Networking, Load Balancing
- Networking: DNS, Firewalls, Proxies, Routing, F5, Palo Alto
- Security Integrations: Akamai APIs, F5/Palo Alto APIs, Security Orchestration
Experience Requirements
- 8+ years overall relevant experience
- 5+ years in security automation and Infrastructure as Code
- 5+ years production implementation/support
- 4+ years cloud and Kubernetes/platform engineering
- Hands-on experience designing, developing, deploying, and supporting security solutions
- Strong cross-functional collaboration with AppSec, Network, DNS, Cloud, Akamai, and Platform teams

- Akamai APIs / Origin Lockdown
- F5 and Palo Alto integrations
- AI-assisted security automation / LLM integration
