Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Security Engineer at 10x Pentest. The Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls across applications, networks, and infrastructure. Daily responsibilities include performing security assessments and penetration tests, analyzing vulnerabilities, and recommending remediation steps to clients and internal teams. The role involves developing and refining security tooling, scripts, and processes to improve testing efficiency and coverage. The Security Engineer will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate security best practices into development lifecycles, monitor environments for threats, and contribute to documentation and security reports. Participation in knowledge sharing, research on emerging threats, and continuous improvement of methodologies is also expected.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Application Security and Security Engineering, including secure design, code review, and vulnerability assessment of web and mobile applications.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Security and Information Security, including configuring and assessing network defenses, access controls, and security policies.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity, including threat modeling, incident response fundamentals, and familiarity with common attack techniques and security frameworks.
- Experience with penetration testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite, Nmap, Metasploit), scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), and security automation is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), container security, and secure CI/CD practices is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment are required.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSCP, OSWE, CISSP, CEH) and a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, are preferred.
