Description

The Web & Digital Experience Manager is accountable for the delivery of strategy, performance, and day-to-day management of the Securian Canada website(s) and digital ecosystem. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Brand, this role is a key liaison with the US-based parent company to deliver alignment, governance, and shared digital assets while managing seamless execution in the hybrid aspects of our model. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Brand, Product Marketing, Communications, IT, and Legal—to deliver engaging, high-performing digital experiences that reflect the brand and drive business objectives.

What You Will Do

Web Strategy & Performance

  • participate in development end-to-end website strategy;
  • own delivery of the end-to-end website strategy, roadmap, and optimization plans, offering a differentiated experience;
  • evaluate new web property requests to ensure alignment with the broader digital ecosystem and governance standards;
  • Build and drive improvements in user experience, conversion, SEO, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness;
  • Ensure the website reflects brand guidelines, business priorities, and current campaigns.

Content & Experience Management

  • Manage CMS (Adobe Experience Manager) and ensure timely updates.
  • Maintain oversight of content planning, publishing, and archiving workflows.
  • Manage relationship with and use of proxy solution (TransPerfect) for French translation as website operates in two languages: English and French.
  • Partner with CRM, email, and campaign teams to ensure consistent journeys across digital touchpoints.
  • Partner closely with Technology locally and with parent company on technical architecture, design, development, and management of the site.
  • Liaise with appropriate teams to manage additional requirements for The Digital Standards Guide (DSG) which provides a catalog of Securian’s enterprise web standards and implementations of the standard foundations, components, and patterns that can be used by authors, designers, and developers.
  • Leverage web design expertise to craft intuitive, visually compelling digital experiences, utilizing Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Report on KPIs (traffic, engagement, conversion) and identify actionable insights.
  • Implement A/B testing, UX audits, and conversion rate optimization initiatives.
  • Quality assurance responsibilities such as metadata tagging, mobile usability checks, and accessibility compliance (WCAG and AODA), including use of tools e.g. Grackledocs to ensure AODA compliance.
  • Track digital behavior and use of customer insights, journey mapping, and user testing to inform web experience development.
  • Coordinate with Partner Programs to reflect existing analytics definitions and performance reporting standards.

Governance & Alignment

  • Act as the primary liaison with the US-based parent company’s digital/web team where/when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate digital governance, brand standards, and security protocols.

Agency & Vendor Management

  • Lead the relationship with digital/web agencies: briefing, project management, QA, and performance tracking.
  • Define scopes, and manage budgets related to web and digital agency support.

What You Will Bring

  • 5–7 years of experience in digital/web strategy and website management.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles, web development basics, SEO, and web analytics.
  • Solid understanding of CMS platform (AEM), SaaS (including Figma and Google Analytics), and MarTech solutions frequently leveraged for web support and performance.
  • Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills. Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions that align with organizational objectives.
  • Strong complex problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Ability to navigate and resolve complex issues and challenges.
  • Ability to influence across departments and with US parent company.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and urgent requests.
