About the role

We are seeking a Box Truck Driver and Warehouse Specialist to join our Logistics and Warehouse team. This individual will also be responsible for safely operating a commercial box truck (26ft) during peak season to transport technology equipment to and from our warehouse and partnering school districts. This includes handling loading/unloading, route planning, collaboration with other team members, and vehicle maintenance. The majority of the time outside of peak season will be performing standard warehouse duties. Those duties include managing inventory, processing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations.

Description

Fundamental role responsibilities:

Operating our 26ft box truck for local and long-distance technology equipment pickups. Driving assignments may occur 3-5 days during our peak season, then drop to 1-2 days per week or less during our off-peak season.
Ensuring that the box truck is fully equipped with proper equipment to load and unload equipment.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
Manually load/unload technology equipment or operate tools like pallet jacks and forklifts.
Maintain accurate delivery logs, obtain client signatures, and perform excellent customer service. Resolving delivery discrepancies with the Assistant Customer Service Manager and the client.
Ability to work independently or as a team at district pickup locations, packing, wrapping, and strapping devices into slotted or open-top gaylords.
Manage other team members when present on trips, ensuring all devices are packed, secured, and counted.
Oversee tracking of technology equipment with proper documentation and labeling upon departure and arrival to and from the warehouse.
Ensuring the safety of the truck, equipment, and team members while traveling.
Meet the client’s needs in a professional and courteous manner.
Pick, pack, and ship customer orders with accuracy and efficiency.
Receive and intake inbound inventory, verifying quantities and condition.
Perform regular inventory counts, update records in the warehouse system, and report any shortages or discrepancies.
Support general warehouse operations as assigned.
Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety procedures.
Inform direct supervisor or member of management of any known or witnessed issues, concerns, or suggestions in a timely manner.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery safely.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

26 years of age or older with a clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
2-5 years of experience driving a box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory role preferred.
Basic computer skills and experience with scanner guns and inventory systems.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to meet the physical requirements.
Ability to pass a DOT physical exam.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
Strong navigation skills, proficiency with GPS, and basic time management skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit and stand for long periods.
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling material, sometimes heavy items, while loading and unloading. (Up to 75-100lbs)

Working Conditions:

Requires core working hours (between 8 am - 5 pm), with occasional overtime during high peak periods.
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
