We are looking for Section Head-Signalling
The Head – Signaling shall be responsible for leading the maintenance, reliability, availability, and overall performance of the signaling and train control systems across the PML 3 corridor. The role is critical in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient train operations through effective management of CBTC-based signaling systems, wayside equipment, onboard interfaces, and OCC/ATS integration systems.
The position demands strong technical expertise in modern metro signaling technologies, along with proven leadership capabilities, strategic planning skills, and a thorough understanding of railway safety assurance and compliance requirements.
You’ll make a difference by
- Define and implement the signalling maintenance and asset management strategy aligned with organizational goals. Lead long-term planning for system upgrades, obsolescence management, and technology enhancements. Ensure alignment with international metro signalling standards and best practices
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of signalling systems including: CBTC (Communication-Based Train Control), Interlocking systems, Trackside equipment (signals, axle counters, balises, etc.), Onboard signalling interfaces, OCC/ATS systems, Ensure high system availability and minimum service disruption.
- Ensure compliance with SIL (Safety Integrity Level) requirements, railway safety standards, and statutory guidelines. Maintain fail-safe design principles and safety assurance processes. Support audits, safety certifications, and regulatory inspections
- Availability and reliability, MTBF / MTTR, Train delays attributable to signalling, conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of failures and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead and manage a team of signalling engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Ensure continuous training and skill development in CBTC and signalling systems. Build a high-performance team focused on safety and operational excellence.
- Interface with OEMs and signalling contractors for maintenance support and system upgrades. Manage annual maintenance contracts (AMC), SLAs, and vendor performance. Ensure timely availability of critical spares and software support
- Coordinate with Operations, Rolling Stock, Telecom, and Electrical teams to ensure seamless system integration. Support testing, commissioning, and system modifications. Ensure proper interfacing between signalling and other subsystems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, system documentation, and configuration management logs. Ensure proper management procedures for software and hardware updates.
Desired Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Electrical Engineering or an equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in railway/metro signaling systems maintenance and operations.
- Mandatory experience in CBTC-based signaling systems within metro or mainline railway environments. Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of CBTC systems.
- Sound technical expertise in CBTC systems, interlocking systems, wayside signaling equipment, and ATS/OCC systems.
- Good understanding of fail-safe principles, signaling safety concepts, and Safety Integrity Level (SIL) standards.
- Hands-on experience in system diagnostics, fault analysis, troubleshooting, and subsystem integration.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and signaling-related software tools.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience in team management and coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform efficiently under operational and time-critical conditions.
