Secondary English Teacher (IGCSE / IBDP)
Location: Kolkata, India
CTC: ₹18–24 LPA
Experience: 5–7 Years
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Secondary English Teacher to join a progressive academic institution in Kolkata. This role is ideal for educators with strong experience in IGCSE and/or IBDP curricula, who are committed to delivering high-quality, student-centered learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, concept-driven lesson plans aligned with IGCSE/IBDP frameworks
- Implement effective assessment strategies (formative, summative, and reflective)
- Collaborate with teachers across grade levels for improved student outcomes
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Act as a homeroom advisor and manage student wellbeing & pastoral care
- Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians
- Participate in school events, professional development, and curriculum planning
Must-Have Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject + B.Ed. (or equivalent)
- Master’s degree in Education or relevant subject
- Certified/qualified teacher as per national/international standards
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience at secondary level
- Experience teaching IGCSE and/or IBDP curriculum
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
Good to Have
- Certification/training in Cambridge or IB curriculum
- Experience as IBDP/Cambridge examiner or IBEN member
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and interdisciplinary teaching methods
- Experience with data-driven instruction & differentiated learning
- Background in curriculum design, mentorship, and student success tracking
