Role Summary
We are seeking a
Search Technology Developer to modernize and enhance the enterprise
search platform. The role focuses on improving
information discovery, relevance, and accessibility to enable faster and more accurate decision-making for business users.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in
search technologies, Azure AI Search, Python, and data platforms, along with a good understanding of
GenAI-powered search enhancements.
Key Responsibilities Search Platform Development
- Develop and enhance features in the enterprise search platform.
- Implement search indexing, querying, and relevance tuning using Azure AI Search.
- Optimize search performance for speed, accuracy, and scalability.
AI-Driven Search Enhancements
- Leverage GenAI capabilities to improve search relevance and user experience.
- Implement features like semantic search, ranking optimization, and intelligent retrieval.
- Work with structured and unstructured data sources for indexing and retrieval.
Backend Development & Data Handling
- Develop backend services using Python (preferred) and optionally Java.
- Work with databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
- Design and manage data pipelines for search indexing and updates.
Testing, Deployment & Support
- Perform unit testing and validation of search functionalities.
- Handle deployment activities and document deployment steps.
- Provide UAT and production support.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes.
Collaboration & Documentation
- Collaborate with Product Owner, Technical Leads, and cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement enhancements.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills Core Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Azure Cloud and Azure AI Search.
- Proficiency in Python development (Java is a plus).
- Solid understanding of search technologies (indexing, ranking, querying, relevance tuning).
Database Skills
- Experience with RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
AI & Search Enhancements
- Foundational knowledge of GenAI and semantic search concepts.
- Understanding of information retrieval techniques.
Engineering & Delivery
- Experience in unit testing, deployment, and production support.
- Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to own tasks end-to-end and work collaboratively.
