Company Description
HonestAI is a leading applied artificial intelligence company focused on building advanced human-in-the-loop AI systems for mid-sized manufacturing companies in the US and Canada. Specializing in AI middleware, HonestAI integrates cutting-edge technology with legacy systems like ERPs, CRMs, and operational platforms to streamline workflows, enhance data consistency, and optimize real-world operations. With a talented team of strategists, data scientists, and engineers, the company delivers effective and scalable AI-powered solutions, including machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. HonestAI is dedicated to transforming manufacturing operations, driving efficiency, and supporting impactful business outcomes.
We’re now looking for a Senior B2B SEO & Answer‑Engine Strategist who can own results end‑to‑end—not just advise the team. This is a hands‑on, outcomes‑focused role where you personally move the needle and use the team as leverage, not as an excuse.
What you will OWN (outcomes, not just tasks)
- Define and execute an SEO + AEO strategy that aligns with our ICPs (manufacturing, food/CPG, healthcare, B2B services, warehousing) and revenue goals.
- Turn graycyan.ai into a structured, crawlable site with clear pillar/cluster architecture that matches how our buyers search and ask questions.
- Make GrayCyan a frequently cited source in search and answer engines for topics related to manufacturing and operations AI.
- Increase qualified demos and opportunities from organic, and make that impact visible through simple, clear reporting.
- Take full ownership for results: when something stalls, you step in and do the work yourself or rework the approach—you do not sit back and “hope the team delivers.”
Key responsibilities
Audit and plan
- Run a deep technical and content audit of our current site and organic presence.
- Produce a 60–90 day plan with clear priorities across technical SEO, content, AEO, and GEO.
Architecture and on‑page execution
- Build a keyword and intent map around themes like:
- Manufacturing AI consulting and operations AI.
- AI for food/CPG audits, compliance, quality, and forecasting.
- Agentic AI for operations and AI middleware/integrations with ERP, MES, WMS.
- AI readiness / AI maturity scorecards.
- Design and refine our information architecture: 5–8 core pillar pages (by industry and by offering) plus supporting cluster content.
- Personally drive on‑page optimization: titles, meta descriptions, H1/H2s, intros, CTAs, internal links. You’ll write, edit, and implement—not just brief.
Answer‑engine optimization (AEO)
- Structure pages and articles so that answer engines can easily surface and quote us: FAQs, Q&A blocks, TL;DRs, explicit definitions, and clear, quotable stats.
- Identify and target opportunities for featured snippets, “People Also Ask,” and AI overview citations.
Technical SEO & schema
- Own core technical hygiene: crawlability, internal linking, sitemaps/robots, index management, mobile, and performance basics.
- Implement and maintain structured data (JSON‑LD) for Organization, Service, Article, FAQ, LocalBusiness, and where relevant Product/SoftwareApplication.
GEO / local signals
- Introduce and strengthen geo signals: a “Locations & Service Areas” presence, clear geographic language on relevant pages, and alignment with our external profiles.
Hands‑on leadership (“player‑coach”)
- Directly execute high‑leverage work yourself (audits, IA, on‑page changes, briefs, dashboards).
- Pair with writers, devs, and ops on real work so they learn by doing with you.
- Default mindset: “I’ll get this done and pull others in where it multiplies impact,” not “the team should handle this.”
Reporting and iteration
- Build a simple view of performance that a non‑marketer can understand.
- Report monthly on what matters: qualified organic leads, demos, opportunities, and revenue influenced—plus leading indicators like rankings and visibility for priority themes.
- Iterate based on what’s working, not on vanity metrics.
Who you are
- 4–7+ years in B2B SEO, ideally with experience in SaaS, consulting, or technical/industrial/manufacturing environments.
- You’ve owned SEO strategy end-to-end for a B2B brand (not just written blog posts or done isolated audits).
- You understand how to win in a world of AI Overviews and answer engines: featured snippets, “People Also Ask,” structured FAQs, and content designed to be cited.
- Strong technical SEO fundamentals: site architecture, internal linking, sitemaps/robots, Core Web Vitals, mobile, crawl and index management, and JSON-LD schema.
- Strong on-page and content instincts: you can brief, edit, and quality-check content aimed at COOs, plant managers, and IT/OT leaders, not just generic marketing personas.
- Comfortable with light local/geo SEO: location/service-area concepts, local schema, and aligning on-site signals with off-site profiles.
- Proficient with common SEO tooling (e.g., keyword and backlink tools, a crawler, Google Search Console, analytics) and able to build a simple, understandable view of performance for non-marketers.
- You care about impact: you think in terms of pipeline, revenue, and strategic positioning, not just clicks and impressions.
What your first 90 days might look like
- 0–30 days: Deep-dive audit, keyword/intent mapping, and a proposed architecture + roadmap focused on the highest-impact changes.
- 31–60 days: Implement core on-page and structural changes for top URLs, add FAQs/Q&A and schema to key commercial pages, stand up basic geo/service-area presence.
- 61–90 days: Optimize existing high-potential articles to support core pages, secure initial strategic backlinks, and establish simple reporting for organic-driven demos and opportunities.
