About Us:
Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Corporation company, is a trusted partner in providing powerful edge computing hardware and defensive cybersecurity solutions to protect the Federal Government and private enterprises. Our goal is to support the federal government, our allies, mission partners, and private industries in accomplishing their cybersecurity and defense objectives efficiently and securely through cutting-edge hardware, engineering, and integration services.

Position Overview:

Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is seeking a highly technical, hands-on Senior Solution Architect with deep expertise in server hardware and systems engineering to support the design, integration, and deployment of advanced small form factor, high-mobility server platforms for edge computing environments.

This role is ideal for someone who understands server architecture at a low level CPU, memory, storage, networking, power, and thermal constraints and can translate that knowledge into real-world, mission-ready edge solutions. You will work closely with customers, engineering teams, and product development to deliver ruggedized, high-performance systems for distributed and often constrained environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design end-to-end edge compute solutions centered on small form factor, high-mobility server systems
  • Provide deep technical expertise on server hardware, including processor architectures (x86/ARM), memory subsystems, storage (NVMe, SSD, RAID), and high-speed networking (10/25/40/100GbE)
  • Advise customers on system sizing, performance tuning, and workload optimization for edge deployments
  • Lead technical discovery sessions and translate requirements into detailed system architectures and BOMs
  • Support integration of virtualization, containerization, and orchestration platforms (e.g., VMware, KVM, Kubernetes) on constrained edge hardware
  • Design for resiliency in harsh or disconnected environments (limited power, thermal constraints, intermittent connectivity)
  • Conduct and support proof-of-concept (PoC) builds, benchmarking, and performance validation
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering teams on system design, including I/O, GPU/accelerator integration, and ruggedization considerations
  • Ensure solutions meet security and compliance requirements, including secure boot, encryption, and system hardening
  • Deliver technical presentations, whitepapers, and solution documentation
  • Travel extensively to customer sites for deployment, troubleshooting, and technical engagement

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • US Citizen.
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
    • 7+ years of experience in server architecture, systems engineering, or solution architecture roles
    • Deep understanding of server hardware design and performance characteristics, including:
      • CPU architectures (Intel/AMD/ARM), cores, threading, and NUMA
      • Memory architectures (DDR4/DDR5, ECC, bandwidth considerations)
      • Storage systems (NVMe, SATA, RAID configurations, storage tiering)
      • PCIe lanes, expansion, and accelerator integration (GPU, FPGA, SmartNICs)
    • Experience with Linux-based systems administration and performance tuning
    • Strong understanding of networking concepts and hardware (NICs, RDMA, switching, edge networking)
    • Experience with virtualization and container platforms (VMware, KVM, Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues
    • Strong customer-facing and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently in field environments and manage multiple priorities
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 75%

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in cybersecurity, including system hardening, secure architectures, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF, Zero Trust)
    • Experience with ruggedized, tactical, or mobile compute platforms
    • Familiarity with edge AI/ML workloads and GPU acceleration
    • Experience with out-of-band management (IPMI, Redfish) and remote system management
    • Knowledge of power and thermal design considerations in compact systems
    • Experience supporting government, defense, or classified environments
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, CISSP, Security+, VMware VCP, or similar)
