Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Manager – Sea / Air Freight & Warehousing to oversee and manage freight forwarding operations including sea freight, air freight, and warehouse management in Djibouti. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth logistics operations, maintaining service quality, managing teams, and coordinating with global agents and shipping lines.
Key Responsibilities:
· Sea Freight Operations:
- Manage import and export sea freight operations end-to-end.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, agents, and customers for bookings and documentation.
- Monitor shipment movement and ensure timely delivery and clearance.
- Handle BL documentation, customs requirements, and operational issues.
· Air Freight Operations:
- Supervise air import and export shipments.
- Coordinate with airlines, cargo agents, and airport authorities.
- Ensure timely cargo handling, documentation, and dispatch.
- Maintain compliance with air cargo regulations.
· Warehouse Management:
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, and cargo handling.
- Ensure proper storage, safety procedures, and cargo documentation.
- Manage receiving, dispatch, and stock tracking systems.
· Operations Management:
- Manage daily freight forwarding and logistics operations.
- Ensure cost control, efficiency, and service quality.
- Resolve operational issues and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Prepare operational reports and performance analysis.
- Team & Client Management:
- Lead and supervise the operations and warehouse team.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, shipping lines, airlines, and overseas agents.
- Ensure timely communication and coordination with customers.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2 - 3 years in freight forwarding / logistics industry.
- Strong experience in Sea Freight, Air Freight, and Warehouse Operations.
- Knowledge of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and logistics operations.
- Experience managing international freight and global agents.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics / Supply Chain / Business Administration.
- Experience working in Africa or international logistics operations is an advantage.
