Volt Money is looking for a
SDET Lead to join our rapidly growing fintech team focused on building high-quality mobile and web financial products.
This is a
senior leadership + hands-on role requiring strong automation expertise, solid manual testing depth, and the ability to collaborate closely with Product, Design, and engineering teams. You will own quality from requirement discussions to production release.
This role requires a strong
technical leader who can drive quality assurance strategy end-to-end while also being hands-on in implementation. You will own the
Manual testing and Automation Charter, Release Quality, and CI/CD testing strategy, while mentoring and guiding other SDETs.
Role Overview
- Define and lead the overall Quality Automation Strategy
- Act as a hands-on Individual Contributor
- Mentor and guide a team of 5+ SDETs/QA engineers
- Partner closely with Product Design during feature planning
- Own release quality, risk assessment, and go-live sign-offs
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Automation Leadership
- Participate in product requirement discussions and design reviews to identify risks early
- Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure clear, testable acceptance criteria
- Drive shift-left testing and quality-first mindset across teams
- Define automation roadmap, coverage metrics, and quality KPIs
- Lead sprint test planning, risk analysis, and release readiness reviews
- Mentor and perform code reviews for SDET team members
🔹 Hands-On Contribution
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts
- Automate Web, Mobile (Android/iOS), and REST APIs
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Improve test stability, reduce flakiness, and optimize execution
- Perform root cause analysis and support production validation
- Prepare release reports and quality dashboards
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7+ years of automation testing experience
- 2+ years leading or mentoring QA/SDET teams
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and Appium
- Experience in Web, Mobile, and API testing
Qualifications
- Experience in fintech/startup environments
- Knowledge of performance and security testing basics
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with CI/CD integration
