About The Team
We are building a Unified Customer Platform — an Enterprise Customer Data Platform (CDP) that powers identity resolution, audience building, real-time personalisation, and campaign orchestration at scale. The platform processes billions of customer interactions, and the integrity of data pipelines and insights is central to its success.
As an SDET, you will ensure that data pipelines, APIs, and services are robust, reliable, and accurate. You’ll build automation frameworks, test big data workflows, validate complex datasets, and guarantee that both data quality and system performance meet enterprise-grade standards.
What will you do?
- End-to-End Quality Ownership
Contribute to all phases of product development: requirement analysis, design, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Validate ETL/ELT jobs, streaming pipelines, and batch processes for correctness, performance, and reliability.
- Verify data transformations, aggregations, schema evolution, and lineage.
- Build synthetic and anonymised test datasets that represent real customer scenarios and edge cases (PII, consent flags, multi-touch journeys).
- Perform data reconciliation between source and warehouse/lake.
- Strong SQL-based Validation
Write Complex SQL Queries To
- Verify data correctness across billions of rows.
- Check consistency, joins, aggregations, and edge cases.
- Automate SQL-based validation in CI/CD pipelines.
- API & Service Testing
Write automation for REST APIs and backend services to ensure correctness, scalability, and performance.
- Test Automation Frameworks
Build and extend automation frameworks in Python (Pytest/Playwright or similar) for pipelines, APIs, and data validation.
Analyse failures in logs, pipeline runs, and data mismatches; perform preliminary root cause analysis.
- Performance & Scalability Testing
Contribute to load and stress testing for APIs and high-volume pipelines.
Collaborate with Developers, Data Engineers, and Product to review designs, define acceptance criteria, and shift quality left.
What We Are Looking For
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, ability to build and extend automation frameworks and test tools.
- SQL Expertise: Strong ability to write and optimise complex SQL queries for validating large datasets.
- API Testing: Proficient in REST API testing with hands-on experience using Postman and pytest automation frameworks.
- Microservices: Exposure to distributed systems and event-driven architecture.
- Version Control & CI/CD: Proficiency in Git, experience with Jenkins/GitHub Actions/GitLab CI.
- Collaboration Tools: Jira/Asana for tracking, Confluence for documentation.
Good to have
- Experience with data warehouses and lakes (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Hive, Delta Lake).
- Familiarity with Kafka/event-driven testing.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Load/performance testing experience (Locust, JMeter).
- Frontend test automation experience (Selenium, Playwright).
- Exposure to containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
