WHAT YOU'LL BRING
🔹 Backend & Go 3–7 years of backend engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years writing production Go (or a strong systems-language background with demonstrated Go proficiency).
🔹 PostgreSQL Deep experience with schema design for transactional systems, indexing strategies, query plans, migrations, and connection pooling.
🔹 Redis Hands-on beyond basic key-value — pub/sub, sorted sets for leaderboards/queues, and caching patterns like write-through and cache-aside.
🔹 Cloud Infrastructure GCP or AWS experience where you've set up and managed production infrastructure yourself — not just deployed to someone else's setup.
🔹 DevOps Strong fundamentals across Docker, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred), container orchestration (Cloud Run or similar), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform is a plus).
🔹 API Design Experience designing RESTful APIs at scale — versioning, pagination, idempotency, auth flows (JWT + refresh tokens), and consistent error handling.
🔹 Observability Structured logging (zerolog/zap), distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry), metrics (Prometheus/Grafana or GCP Cloud Monitoring), and alerting.
🔹 Product Mindset You think about what the API enables for users — not just what it returns as JSON.
🔹 Ownership Comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration cycles, and owning problems end-to-end from design → deploy → on-call.
