Scriptwriter (Internship)
If you've spent more time dissecting why an Instagram Reel hit 10M views than you have watching it - we should talk.
If you're applying because "scriptwriting internship" sounds like a cool line on your CV, close this tab.
This is not a content mill. This is not a "write 10 blogs a week" role. This is where stories for the next generation of AI-native media get architected - and we need someone who thinks about narrative the way engineers think about systems.
Where We're Playing The script is the skeleton of everything. Every viral video, every brand film, every content IP that breaks through - it starts with someone who understood what the story needed to do before a single frame was shot. Most people in "content" skip this part. They jump to formats, aesthetics, trends. And then wonder why nothing lands.
At Glido Labs, we're building AI-native content IPs (original formats, characters, universes) designed from the ground up for a production stack that moves faster than anything legacy media can match. The scripts driving these aren't written the way traditional content is written. They're engineered. Hook by hook. Beat by beat. Designed to perform.
We need someone who gets that.
How We Actually Work • Lean. Tiny team. No layers. No briefing decks that take a week to approve.
If you have an idea, you pitch it. If it's good, it ships.
• Chill on vibe, unhinged on quality. One question gets asked about every piece of writing: "Is this the sharpest version of this? No? Rewrite it."
• Real work, not theatre. You won't be writing sample scripts that sit in a Google Doc. What you write gets made.
• AI-first, always. You don't write around AI - you write with it, through it, and sometimes you let it do a draft so you can tear it apart and understand what's missing. That gap between what AI produces and what actually hits - is where your job lives.
Why We're Hiring & What You'll Do
- Script the IPs - Long-form, short-form, episodic. Write the words that go into real productions. Not pitches. Not decks. The actual scripts.
- Architect the content strategy - What gets made, in what format, for what platform, in what sequence. You will have a seat at that table.
- Reverse-engineer what works - Watch a video and break it down structurally: hook type, pacing, narrative arc, emotional payoff, why it kept someone watching. You do this automatically and obsessively.
- Study the AI-native frontier - Who is building original content IPs using AI? What are they doing well? What is about to break through? You bring that intelligence in and it shapes what we build.
Who We're Looking For
- You have written things - scripts, essays, threads, anything - and people have told you "this is different" without being able to explain why. You know why.
- You watch content with a part of your brain that never fully switches off. Always taking notes, even when you don't mean to.
- You have strong opinions on what makes a story work. And you can argue them without getting precious about it.
- You don't wait for a brief to have an idea. You come in with angles.
- You are obsessive about craft - not in a "I spent 3 weeks on one paragraph" way - in a "I will redo this until it is right, but I will do it fast" way.
- You think AI-first. Not "how would a writer solve this?" but "how do I use every tool available - including AI - to make this the sharpest it can be?"
Nice to Have
- Experience writing for video formats (short-form, reels, YouTube)
- Familiarity with AI tools for content creation (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
- Portfolio or samples that show narrative thinking, not just good grammar
- Understanding of platform-specific content mechanics (Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
