ABOUT THE ROLE
With Inputs from the Senior Leadership team, the Scouting Manager will be responsible for building a Pan India scouting strategy to find high calibre Entrepreneurs. You will you direct and implement the scouting processes across our offices in Western and Southern India along with supporting our affiliates.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Scouting
- Devising and implementing a focused scouting strategy resulting in a well balance cohort from diverse backgrounds – identifying key partnerships, outreach events, media coverage to increase the number of quality applications for the Incubation programs
- Building scouting partnerships with Academic Institutions, Service Providers (Incubator & Accelerators), Funders, Awards and Fellowships, Community Based Organizations,
Media Houses, etc. These partnerships should result in a regular pipeline of fellows
- Maintaining key partnerships – year long partner engagement and tracking of effectiveness of each partnership in terms of number of applications received from each partner
- Conducting out-reach events – with partners or independently to meet the scouting targets
- Work closely with the communications team to prepare all collaterals needed for outreach
- Liaisioning with media agencies to cover the scouting cycle
- Manage a database of all interests and applications received. Work closely with the Incubation team to build a pipeline of candidates from previous cycles.
Selection
- Carry out initial screening of interested applicants to check if they meet the required basic selection criteria
- Manage the application pipeline database on our CRM and keep a track of all applicants as they move through the different stages of the selection process
- Schedule screening meetings with the Incubation Team for pre-shortlisted candidates with support from the Admin Associate
- Sit in on screening meetings along with the Incubation Team
- Plan Theory of Change Workshop along with the Incubation Team
- Inform applicants on the decision of the Incubation Team – in charge of overall Applicant Management
- Create profiles of the selected entrepreneurs and circulate them among the UnLtd India network, the selection panelist, publish them on our website, in blogs, on our social media pages and send them as press releases to online and print media contacts
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- At least five years of experience of working in a corporate, start-up or high quality development organization
- Strong experience of networking/building partnerships across multiple stakeholders and preferably multiple states
- Past experience of scouting/selecting for Fellowships, Business plans, etc preferred
- Strong project management skills along with attention to detail
- A strong grasp of at least two of the following areas – resource management, monitoring & evaluation, program design, scouting, strategy and team training
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with fluency in English
- An ability to thrive in an fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
- Passionate about social change and Entrepreneurship
- Eligible to work in India
