About the Role
Blue Blocks Micro Research Institute is operating at the frontier of educational innovation. We are looking for a Science Communications & Research Associate to work directly under our STEM Research Lead. This is a rare, dual-focus role designed for a researcher who moves comfortably between a complex dataset and a high-level stakeholder conversation.
You will be the bridge between raw data and academic prestige, helping us build the systems and workflows that allow our research to scale globally.
Core Responsibilities
1. Research Architecture & Execution
- System Design: Build and refine the internal workflows and data pipelines that power our research engine.
- Standardization: Clean and standardize datasets and methodologies to ensure all BBMRI research meets the highest ethical and academic standards.
- Study Leadership: Take the lead on specific longitudinal studies, from hypothesis refinement to final write-up.
- Quantitative Focus: Apply rigorous statistical methods to STEM education data to uncover longitudinal trends and insights.
2. Strategic Science Communications
- Academic PR: Represent the Institute in high-level dialogues with the global scientific community and academic bodies.
- Prestige & Publication: Manage the submission lifecycle for preprints and peer-reviewed journals, ensuring our work is positioned for maximum impact and prestige.
- Collaboration Engine: Identify and pursue opportunities for research partnerships, conference participation, and academic awards.
- PR Integration: Work closely with the Research Team Lead to ensure technical findings are accurately translated into public-facing narratives.
What We Expect from You
- The Qualification: A PhD (or PhD-submitted/final stage) in Education Research, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or a related field. An Education Research background is a significant plus.
- Publication Record: At least one published paper or preprint that has navigated the peer-review system.
- Methodological Rigour: Deep experience with Longitudinal Studies and a commitment to ethical research protocols.
- The "Startup" Mindset: Experience in a business, startup, or consultancy environment. You should be comfortable building systems from scratch rather than just following existing ones.
- Communication Fluidity: The ability to switch between technical academic writing and interpersonal stakeholder management in the same afternoon.
